Gents,
I apologize for no more activity. I glued one of the pieces setting the dihedral for one of the outer wing panels late one night only to discover I failed to establish the correct angle the following evening after home from work and supper. I'd also glued in the gussets and knew I would ruin it trying to salvage it so...I set out to fabricate ribs W4 thru W15. Now, even though its a flat bottomed airfoil it is tapered and in addition to the top & bottom spars it has a pair of sub-spars forming the front top half of the wing.
Wayne lent me his "vibrating sabre saw" (aka: scroll saw) as all I owned was a hand held sabre saw. That booger was the ticket!!! Had to get me one...........and have.
But, as luck goes I haven't felt up to working in the heat of the garage until it cools down which by the time I start I pretty well can't see to well even though I've set up more than adequate light. (Cataract doesn't help either). Still, I've made progress, purchased the balsa and hope to soon begin building the outer wing panel again and learning if my individually fabricated ribs actually permit a good fit while lining up the cutouts for the main and turbulator sub spars.
So, I'm slow and make mistakes even when I'm careful. But its still interesting!
Regards,
Clay
